Preston loves playing with his blocks. A friend of ours let us borrow a big tub of them. We have built all sort of crazy castles and had many adventures with them. I haven’t yet posted any pictures from November on his picture page, but plan to do so soon. He has recently learned a new sound. I can’t explain the sound, but I think it is amazing that as a mom you know your son so well that even when he has the slightest change in a sound that he makes you notice. He is walking along furniture at a fast pace now, and eating more and more. It wont be long before he is walking on his own, but I wouldn’t mind delaying that process as long as possible. His birthday is right around the corner which is hard to believe. It seems these days we have found ourselves outlining for him what he can play with and what is off limits (dog bowl). He understands the word no and for the most part obeys on the first command. For the last 2 weeks he has been attached at my ankle which is sort of cute except when I am trying to cook dinner. The dog has taken a liking to Preston and it has been fun to watch them chase each other. Life in our house is full of firsts. Preston is still wearing some 9 month clothes and has grown into some 12 month clothes. It has gotten really cold here at night and so he has finally been able to wear some of his cute winter pajamas. I’ll post pictures of them later. We are excited to celebrate our first holidays as a family of 3 (4 if you include the dog).

So there have been a lot of pictures lately (which I know everyone loves) but I wanted to give a little insight to our “normal”, what ever that is, schedule.
Preston now wakes up at 7am I feed him and hand him off to Tim. Tim feeds him oatmeal and a banana and changes his diaper, while I get ready for the day. Tim heads off to 8:30 prayer, or to the office at 9am (depending on the day) At 9am Preston goes down for his first of two naps. He sleeps until 11am. Preston isn’t a whiny baby, so I am not actually sure how much of his 2 hour nap he sleeps. When I get him at 11am he is usually laying down sucking his thumb, but is very much awake. At 11am I feed Preston again, both breastmilk and then solid ( usually a vegie and yogurt, or chicken). We then head out to do errands or meet with friends etc. I also use this time to get 1 hour of structured play time in. Last week we were given a huge box of legos to borrow. Preston has been learning the words in and out using the blocks. He loves it and so do I. We usually meet up wtih Tim to have lunch at noon at a small outdoor Thai restaurant near the house. Preston goes down for his second nap between 1:30 and 1:45 depending on how fussy he is. Preston sleeps from 1:30 until 3:30. During this time I usually do house cleaning and take a short cat nap myself. At 3:30 I feed Preston again and he has 30 minutes of self playtime while I think up what to do for dinner. At 5pm Tim comes home and takes over preston duty while I cook dinner. We eat around 6pm and Preston has his last meal at 6:30 and is in bed by 7pm to do it all over again. Of course this isn’t every day, but I would say on average this is our routine. Preston turned 10 months old yesterday and is getting more and more independant with each day. He still LOVES puttingEVERYTHING in his mouth. We have begun the training of trying to break this habbit. He walks with ease from furniture to furniture, but is not ready to do it on his own. He can stand by himself, but isn’t confident doing so. He can climb the stairs if we would let him, but that is off limits to him. He likes it when I chase him around the house saying, “mommys gonna get Preston, mommys gonna get preston” and when I get him I throw him in the air. We have lots of giggles as a result. He is becoming more strong willed, and when we tell him no he can’t have or do something he gives a littel scream as he tightens his body. Then the emotion is gone and he is off to his next adventure. He likes to patronize the dog, and doesn’t quite get the word gentle yet. He waves bye-bye and knows momma and dadda. When he is done eating a certain food he also waves bye-bye to it. He sometimes makes cute little squinty faces at us to see what reaction he can get. It almost always gets laughter from whom ever he is doing it to.
In the 10 months this little guy has sprung into my life I have totally been captivated by every part of him. He makes me laugh and cry. He touches places in my heart I never new existed. Tim and I are so blessed to be parents and even more blessed to be mom and dad to this little boy.
Happy 10 month birthday baby boy
Preston has his 6th tooth coming in. He will have cut 6 teeth in 7 weeks, is that normal
I am happy that they don’t affect him. He is still my happy little guy. He didn’t get any teeth until he was 8 months and now has 6 of them. We will have to add brushing his teeth to his night time routine.

So it has been about 3 weeks and we have not taken any pictures of our cute little guy because we have not received the camera charger in the mail. It was sent about 10 days ago so hopefully it would arrive any day now. The pictures below are the last of what we captured before the battery died.

We are in the stage of Preston wanting to feed himself. So meal time has become pretty messy. It has been fun to experiment with new foods and watch his expression when he doesn’t like something
